Stacking the Shelves: April

Damn Shannon, back at it again with the book buying (is this Damn Daniel thing like totally over now because I still find it quite funny lol). But yes.. ahem.. I’m back with another haul even though I swore I wouldn’t acquire any more books after I bought thirty six last month haha (oops). I haven’t got anywhere near that number to share with you today but I do have quite a few, so here we go…

Physical Books

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Illustrated Edition by J.K. Rowling

IMG_7202

So many people have been buying this wonderful book and talking about it, so I finally decided to indulge myself! (It was also discounted by 50% on Amazon which really pushed me over the book buying edge).

Harry Potter a L’ecole Des Sorciers (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone French Edition) by J.K. Rowling

IMG_7203

Aha yes.. two copies of the Philosopher’s Stone in one month lol. I can actually totally justify this purchase though, since I’m currently learning French and think this will help me out since I already know and love this book ๐Ÿ™‚ Ps. French is a difficult language to learn.

The Infernal Devices Manga by Cassandra Clare

IMG_7201

I actually found out about this series from someone on here commenting on one of my posts. I can’t remember who it was (sorry ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ) but thank you so much because these are beautiful! I love Cassandra Clare’s books but they’re just so damn long and my TBR pile is horrendously large so I don’t tend to reread books, but this is definitely the answer! The illustrations in this collection are stunning and I just love it, LOVE IT.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

IMG_7204

This is another book which I have been hearing amazing things about and the cover is absolutely stunning, I couldn’t not pick it up! It seems quite intriguing so I’m definitely excited for this one ๐Ÿ™‚ By the way, is the author’s second name actually Morgenstern? That is literally so cool.

The Odyssey andย The Iliadย by Homer

IMG_7205

Ever since I was a kid I’ve always found mythology interesting, especially Greek myths. And it’s about damn time I finally got around to reading these poetic pieces of art. I feel like I’m finally old enough to understand and really cherish these stories for what they are, so I’m happy to finally own them.

The Illustrated A-Z of Classic Mythology: The Legends of Ancient Greece, Rome, and the Norse and Celtic Worlds byย Arthur Cotterell

IMG_7231

Again, I love my mythology and thought this book looked cute and a light read – plus, there are some lovely pictures and illustrations in here!ย

Kindle Books

The Mine (Northwest Passage #1) by John A. Heldt

IMG_7207

I actually received this one from the author for an honest review so I didn’t even spend money on this one, for a change haha. This book is about a guy named Joel who, because of certain events, ends up travelling back in time… dun dun DUN. If you want to find out more thenย you should definitely pick it up ๐Ÿ™‚

Steel Victory by J.L. Gribble

IMG_7217

I received this e-book from the author as well, in exchange for an honest review. I’m so excited to start the one because it really does sound amazing, interesting and unique.

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

IMG_7232

Everyone and their mother has heard about this book and Alexandra Bracken, and for good reason! I have heard wonderful things about this book and am hella excited to be reading it now. This is actually the first book I’ve ever received through Net Galley (which is also equally as exciting ((and free, aw yeah))).

Audio Books

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (narrated by Royย Dotrice)

IMG_7218

I finally decided to sign up for my free trial on Audible! I used my credit this month to buy A Game of Thrones because, for the life of me, I cannot physically read this book. I’ve tried multiple times but the whole series is massive and the writing is so dense. I’m a big lover of the show though, and would love to know more about the characters and world so the audiobook is probably the best way to tackle this! (Ps. Pray for me, the audiobook is 33 hours and 45 minutes long).

So there we go, I’m an impulsive book buyer. I’m actually starting to think it’s a weird addiction but I just CAN’T STOP. Ahhhhh, thank you for reading! ๐Ÿ™‚
