Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Bookworm Delights

Time for another Top 10 Tuesday! This is a weekly meme held by The Broke and the Bookish, and I’m super excited to share with you that this week’s topic is: Top Ten Bookworm Delights. This post may get a little weird, you have been warned…

Book Hauls

Buying a hell of a lot of books at one time in a shop or online just because… because it’s an addiction. I swear, I get so carried away whilst buying books that within five minutes I’ve spent near enough £100 (I know, I’m terrible).

That New Book Smell

Anyone else have a strange obsession with the way new books smell? Well, it’s not really an obsession, but I do like to give them a little sniff every once in a while.

Smell

That sounded so strange, moving on…

Funky Bookmarks

I love bookmarks, maybe as much as I love books… They’re just so pretty, and basically unnecessary, and I spend money on so many stupid things… Ugh, I’m so gonna become bankrupt one day because of books.

Laughing and Crying at the Same Time

You know when you’re reading a book, and something completely heartbreaking happens so you’re bawling your eyes out? But then a character says something hilarious and you start laughing, then you’re just one big blubbering wet mess? Yeah, I love it. LOVE IT.

Book Community

Everyone within this community is so supportive and lovely, it’s a real highlight of sharing my opinions with you guys. Thank you all so much for being lovely.

“You make me lovely, and it’s lovely to be lovely to the one I love.”

Good Book to Movie/TV Adaptations

Y’know when you read a book and you just love it, like completely love it. Then you find out it’s getting an on screen adaptation and you’re majorly excited and feel like you’re gonna cry at the same time because WHAT IF THEY BUTCHER IT?!?! But it also might be wonderful…

Yup, it’s emotional and distressing being a book lover.

Bookish Merch

I love myself some bookish merch; t-shirts, hoodies, jewellery, funko – you name it and I love it (I love anything to do with books, but still. L O V E I T).

A Full Bookshelf

When I was younger and didn’t have any money (not that I have much more money now lmfao), I used to be so jealous of people with packed bookshelves but now I have a bunch of very full bookshelves myself.. mehe XD It’s just so satisfying seeing a load of books neatly packed into one place, y’feel?

Stunning Covers

Nothing makes me happier than a book with a beautiful front cover that actually makes sense to the contents of the book. And if a whole series gets matching beautiful covers… well, the author has truly won a watch right there.

Book Quotes

Honestly, witty or wise or funny or memorable quotes from books make me so happy. In mid 2014, I started picking my favourite quotes from books and sticking them up on the wall in my bedroom. Now the wall’s full and I need to find new space quickly haha.

So, there is my Top Ten Bookish Delights! I could go on forever because books and things relating to books bring me a hell of a lot of joy but alas, it’s called Top Ten Tuesday for a reason. Tell me about your favourite bookish delights in the comments below 🙂

  1. Great list! I put beautiful covers on my list too. People say not to just a book by it’s cover, but I think if a cover is gorgeous it’s alright to be happy about it. 🙂

  2. Ah the smell of a new book! The feel of a good paper. Book Quotes I am a hoarder of! I just received a notification that one of my favorite authors new book is out and on hold for me at the library and I’m so excited! Book people are simple really, it doesn’t take something big to make us happy!

  3. Honestly a stunning cover AND a brilliant read in one is mine. Some books have amazing covers but the content isn’t up to par. So to find a book with both an amazing cover and story is just 😍 for me!
